7 tips to protect your Facebook account from Hacking

If your Facebook account is hacked, and only you are the administrator of your page, you will temporarily lose access to it until you restore your profile … and hackers meanwhile can post different materials, not only in your profile but also on your fan page.

So, here are seven tips to help improve the security of your Facebook account:

1) Use a long password! If you can remember your password, then it is not strong enough. Use tools such as 1Password.com, Roboform.com, LastPass.com or keepass.info to create complex and resistant to hacking passwords. Never share your password with anyone and never. Do not store it in places accessible to others.

2) Assign at least one more administrator for the page. He must be a reliable employee / friend / assistant. But do not give him your primary password. Just make it to the Administrators of your page.

3) Enable safe mode. To do this: go to your account settings => Security => Safe Browsing => check the box next to ” View Facebook whenever possible via a secure connection (https)” => click save changes.

4) Turn on incoming notifications. You will be able to receive notifications via e-mail and / or in the form of SMS, that your account is entered from an unknown device. I recommend using both email and SMS. To activate this function, you need to: go to your account settings => Safe Browsing => check the box next to “Logon Notifications” => Save Changes.

5) Exit Facebook completely, do not just close the browser, but click “exit”. Especially if others have access to your computer. In addition, periodically clear cache and cookies.

6) If you go to Facebook using a public computer or through a public unprotected Wi-Fi network (for example, in McDonald’s :)), then use a one-time password. It’s only valid for 20 minutes, but you do not show everyone your main password. To receive it, send the message “otp” to number 32665. In response you will receive a temporary 8-digit password.

7) Never click on suspicious links. After all, for hackers it’s so easy to get your credentials using ‘phishing’ sites. If you see a link posted on your wall, for example, from a friend, but you have any doubts, then double-check it by clicking this link. Suddenly your friend’s account is hacked and the bot places phishing links on the walls of its friends.
