How to remove complex stains at home
Surely you had to feel an unpleasant feeling at the sight of an annoying spot on your favorite blouse or trousers, even more so if you had to part with the thing you loved because of this.
At all, you do not need to immediately throw out clothes, because many stains are easy to remove even without the intervention of dry cleaners. They can be handled on their own. But you need to do this procedure with care, so as not to spoil your favorite thing even more.
PRACTICAL TIPS
Before you start removing stains, you need to establish their origin and composition. Many fresh spots easily disappear after washing with soap, soda or other detergents. On the old stains sometimes affect complex chemical solutions, in this case it is important to find out the effects of treatment – whether the structure and color of the fabric will change. To do this, it is necessary to rub the product with a chemical in an unobtrusive place.
It is better to remove the stain from the wrong side while laying on the front piece of white cloth.
When cleaning, use cotton wool, a cloth, a hard brush or a brush. To avoid divorces and halos, the cloth around the spots is moistened with water, gasoline or sprinkled with talcum, starch. On small spots, the agents are applied with a pipette or a wooden stick. Large spots are rubbed from the edges to the middle. If you try to rub from the center, chances are that the stain will “creep” in the sides.
GREASY STAINS
To remove greasy dirt, you can use ammonia, diluted with water and detergent, after which the thing is ironed through a clean white cloth. Also, you can cope with such spots by placing a problem place between layers of blotting paper and ironing with a non-flammable iron. Pollution can be sprinkled with salt, periodically changing it and repeating the procedure.
To remove greasy stains from clothes, immediately strew the soiled area with tooth powder, talc or chalk, cover with a clean sheet of white paper and press something heavy. In a few hours, you need to carefully knock out and clean the contaminated area.
Greasy stains from canned food, fish, sauces or milk are removed with a soap solution. If the dirt is old, try to soak the cloth with warm glycerin first, and then thoroughly wash the thing.
EGG STAINS
Never erase a thing stained with eggs in hot water: it will be “welded”, and it will be impossible to remove yellowness from the fabric. To remove yellow spots from the eggs, wash clothes in cold water, moisten the cotton ball with water with the addition of vinegar, wipe the place of contamination and only after washing the thing in hot water.
Fresh stain from the egg abundantly sprinkle with salt and a little dampen with water. After waiting a while, remove the salt with a brush.
DRINK STAINS
To cope with stains from tea, just sprinkle the contaminated area with sugar, leave for an hour, and then just wash.
Stains from wine, coffee, cocoa and chocolate can be removed with a solution of one tablespoon of ammonia in one liter of boiled water. With a swab, gently wash the stain in a circular motion from the edges to the center, and then rinse in clean water.
Spot from the wine spilled on the clothes should be filled as soon as possible with dry salt or get wet with a napkin so that it does not fade.
Stains from beer are washed in a soap solution or with a good powder.
FRUIT STAINS
Spots from grapes, cherries, and also from red wine can be easily removed if you pour them with boiling water until it disappears completely. Fruit stain can be removed if sprinkled with salt, keep in hot water for several minutes and wash with detergents.
Such impurities are well removed if you hold them in hot milk, then rinse with water. Old age stains, try to remove with citric acid.
GRASS STAINS
Fresh stains from green wipe with triple cologne. If the stain is old, treat it with a mixture of 30 milliliters of cologne and 10 milliliters of ammonia.
STAINS FROM PERSPIRATION
To remove unpleasant stains from sweat, dissolve one tablespoon of salt in a glass of water and wipe the stain with the resulting solution. Also try to treat this stain with 6% vinegar or lemon juice, and then wash.
BLOOD STAINS
Cloth, stained with blood, in no case can not be soaked in hot water. Such spots are better removed if you keep things in salty cold water for several hours, and then wash in warm water.
PAINT FROM PAINT
If the contamination is not too great, moisten the stain with turpentine, kerosene or acetone, then wipe it with ammonia until the stain disappears.
Old stains soften with turpentine, clean with soda solution and rinse with warm water. The water-emulsion paint is removed with a cloth, previously moistened in an aqueous solution of vinegar in equal proportions.
SPOTS FROM PARAFFIN AND WAX
To remove the stain from the candle, you must first wipe off the wax from the fabric, and then from the front side and from the wrong side put blotting paper and iron it with a not very hot iron. Blotter should be changed until the stain disappears.
SPOTS FROM COSMETICS
Spots of cosmetic products with fat content on silk and woolen fabrics are removed in the same way as fat stains. Spots of other cosmetics on white cotton, linen and woolen fabrics are removed with ammonia and washed with water.
Traces of lipstick are removed with gasoline, trichloroethylene or pure alcohol. Nail polish can be removed with acetone or amyl acetate.
STAINS FROM MARKERS AND INK
Try removing stains from the ballpoint pen with alcohol or vinegar. Stains from felt-tip pens can be removed by clearing a stained area of clothing in milk or curdled milk.
CHEWING GUM
If the chewing gum sticks to your clothes, do not rub it, but put the soiled item for several hours in the refrigerator. The chewing gum will freeze and easily leave the fabric.
